8-Week Mindfulness + Meditation Program

This 8-week Mindfulness + Meditation program is an introduction to mindfulness, meditation, and how to incorporate both into your everyday life to achieve a deeper sense of wellbeing.    

Are you interested in better understanding your inner world?  Do you often feel detached from your body?  Do you feel victim to your emotions? Are you searching for more joy in your life?  Learning about meditation and mindfulness can guide you to wellbeing in a deeply profound way.  

This program is offered 1x per week and each week builds upon itself to grow a deeper understanding of your your mind, body, and behavior.  Ages 15+

The following topics will be covered during this program

1. What is mindfulness?  What is the latest research about mindfulness?  What's the hype all about - why is it so popular?  Why is it so important? Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) is probably the best known mainstream mindfulness program out there. It was created in 1979 by the pioneering work of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the UMASS Medical Center. The MBSR curriculum has been extensively investigated and is the subject of many research studies verifying the great benefits that mindfulness practice has on health and well-being.

2. Learn how to approach people and situations with beginner’s mind and greater openness.

3. Learn the importance of questioning the accuracy of your perceptions and seeing things more creatively.

4.  Learn to stop and enjoy the pleasurable moments in your life and cultivate a sense of gratitude.

5.  Learn ways to be more responsive to stressful situations and not act on your autopilot reactions.

6.  Learn to see your thoughts and emotions as events in consciousness, not facts. 

7.  learn to communicate more effectively with others by practicing presence, empathy, and kindness. 

8.  What is meditation?  What is the latest research about meditation?  Why is it so important? 

9.  Brain regions involved in both mindfulness and meditation. 

10.  Learn about the mind-body connection and the power of breathing 

11.  Learn about the vagus nerve and how to activate the vagus nerve to take control of anxiety 

12. Learn about your nervous system (the sympathetic and para sympathetic nervous system).

13.  Learn grounding techniques and explore what will work best for you

14.  Learn a body scan guided meditation, Loving Kindness guided meditation, and inner wisdom meditation

15.  Learn the importance of visualizations and how to harness the power of your imagination for inner growth.

  • 50 - 60 minutes

  • In person

  • Individual or Group 

Payment

 

  • $150 per individual session

  • $70 for 2 people (group)

  • $60 for 3+ people (group)

  • Payment is collected at the beginning of the month for the weeks covered in the month.

Cancellation Policy

  • If you have to miss your session, please contact me 24 hours in advance - This means you will need to contact me by phone (text or call) the day before your session by 5:00 pm.  

  • I allow a one-time grace waver for a no-show or late cancellation (late cancellation is same day cancellation).

  • After the first one-time grace waver, if you have an accident, unforeseeable crisis, death., that causes you to miss session, please communicate this with me.  While it's rare these crisis events happen, they can, and this would be another accepted grace waver. 

  • After the first and second grace waver, there are no refunds if you cancel session the day of your appointment.  I will offer a virtual session if that's helpful so you still receive your service. 

  • Please note that you will be charged for a session that you cancel the same day after the two grace wavers. 

  • If I have to cancel our session, I will always give you 24 - 48 hours notice.  If there is a rare emergency or crisis, illness, death, or injury, I will let you know as soon as I can that session is cancelled.  If I have to cancel session for any reason, the session will be rescheduled or refunded.  Whatever works best in both of our schedules.
