Somatic Yoga

What is Somatic Yoga?
Somatic Yoga is a gentle, therapeutic approach that blends traditional yoga with somatic movement—a body-based practice focused on sensing and releasing patterns of tension from within. It's less about stretching or holding poses and more about moving slowly, mindfully, and with deep awareness.
In a one-on-one session, Somatic Yoga becomes a highly personalized experience. With the support of your therapist, you'll be guided through subtle movements and breathwork designed to help you reconnect with your body, release held tension, and restore a natural sense of ease and flow.
Somatic practices invite you to move from the inside out—learning to feel, listen, and respond to what your body needs in the moment. Rather than pushing or forcing, this practice encourages curiosity, softness, and nervous system regulation. Over time, Somatic Yoga can help you unwind chronic patterns, reduce stress, and feel more at home in your body. Each session is tailored to your unique experience, creating a safe space for healing, self-discovery, and deep rest.
When practiced one-on-one with a teacher, Somatic Yoga becomes a deeply personalized and therapeutic experience. Together, you’ll explore movement patterns that are specifically tailored to your needs—whether you're holding chronic tension, feeling overwhelmed, or simply needing space to reset. At the heart of Somatic Yoga is the understanding that our bodies carry the effects of stress and past experiences. Through mindful movement and breath, this practice gently re-educates the nervous system, encouraging it to shift out of a fight-or-flight state and into rest and restoration.
Over time, Somatic Yoga can help:
-
Soothe anxiety and overwhelm
-
Ease muscular and emotional tension
-
Improve sleep and resilience
-
Enhance your sense of safety and connection in your body
Each session invites you to slow down, notice, and unwind—offering a safe and supportive space to come home to yourself.
